Wenatchee wonderland!!
Last weekend I went to Wenachee Wa to watch Mike race a 2 day 3 stage stage race. It was unique for him to be racing, and NOT me. I really enjoyed watching him, and just having time to hang out.
Mike starts his TT.
Kyle is off..
the feed zone in the road race. This race has a 12mi climb w/ avg grade of like 12%...nasty! The feed zone is only 1/2 way up. In this picture, I had totally forgotten I was supposed to feed the cat 3 field...so I was taking pictures of them instead....oops

on the drive home, I remembered I needed to send in a pic of me on the bike, in my kit to my team ....so we pulled off the hwy, I kit'ed up, jumped on my bike and snap...too bad I was in the wrong jersey, bike, and shoes...I wish it was the thought that counted....maybe A for effort???

Leelanau Michigan!
My first race with my team was Leelanou. It's a UCI/NRC race in northern Michigan (2hrs North of Grand Rapids). The cool part is, Theresa is from Grand Rapids, so we got to stay w/ her family!
The race was fun. A great course, rolling hills, w/ one wall, a million QOMs, four thousand Sprints, and one winner! The feild was small but strong. Cheerwine, Colavita, Tibco were all present to make things exciting.
Pretty much from the gun Anne Samplonious (oh god I have no idea how to spell that) went...ALONE ! And she stayed away all day. That's awesome. Later another break w/ Iona and 4 others got away...then the main bunch was close behind.
Theresa's family showed us a new treat. You take 2 pieces of bread, put cherry filling in the middle, put in a cast iron bread holder that goes over the fire to toast it...viola...cherry pie toasted...yummy
after the race Theresa's mom and dad had a cookout...hot dogs, smores, fruit salad, and cherry pies....it was great! Here you see Tequila and Twink (short for Twinkle toes)...Theresa much loved dogs.
Check this out, these are Theresa's world's jeresy just for like 4 years...
This is her favorite one...notice the pink band in the middle....it was a mistake...but makes is super cool and unique...this one is from Colombia
OH these? These are the ones she just hasn't gotten around to putting up...CRAZY huh. Oh, did I tell you she used to race speedskating?? Yea, she pretty much did everything you can do in that sport. She has a tatoo that has a 29 (for the # of golds) 19 (silvers) and some other number...and worlds stripes for her tally of worlds medals. She showed us a video of her racing...it was so cool! Pretty awesome stuff to see!
Thanks for showing me all that Theresa!! You have a great family, it was great to be a small part of it!!

It was great racing w/ my team. I really like the girls. Theresa, unfortunately, has been struck w/ multiple illnesses since returning to the states about 3 wks ago (strep throat, sinius infection, and food posioning) so she's was not herself. Jess and Casey rode well, happy to get the first race in the books for the season. I enjoyed the course, and riding w/ the team.
