Snow Daize!

Man, I feel like a kid again (and act like one too)...we got a real bone-a-fied Snow Day here in Seattle! It wasn't just because of snow, but because it was mixed w/ ice.

It took Mike 3.5hrs to go ONE exit on 405 Monday night, and me 2 to go 4 miles.

So, I bundled up...got some things done...did my workout...and never left the house!

But, no excuses today....although it's 8:30 and I'm still in my pajamas..."I"m waiting for it to warm up!!!" , that's what I told Mike...who brought his computer home, and is 'working' from home, in addition to enjoying toast, graonola, coffee, and the news! I'm sure he'll get down to buisness as soon as I leave!!

Ok, I still have tons of pictures, Mike and I went to Flagstaff to my sister's house for Turkey day...and Mom and my brothers were there. It was so awesome! Just don't have the time to download all of them right now...

Yeah, back on Blogger!

Blogger Diet!

Yea that's my excuse for not blogging in like a month! So, are you ready to get caught up??

We'll go from oldest to newest: get a cup of wonderful coffee and enjoy:

Carrie Cheadle (MY sports psychologist, or mental training coach) came to do a workshop for some local teams (Starbucks, and Group Health). It was great, held at the Starbucks headquarters, COOL HUH!

And here she is, THE Genius, and wonderful person she is!! I cannot stress enough how much she helped me get through this season. YOU TOO can find out more at: carriecheadle.com (I bettcha $20 you'll thank me for it!!)

And she's VERY serious, seriously!! Actually, we were headed to a 'Ho Down'...as in Square dance party...I was awesome (at watching)...I could have robbed a bank on the way, but they were all closed!

She's cuttin' a rug, that girl! Watching her and Steve Higgins was a Hoot. Steve is a really great cyclist and coach!

Here is the top secret Starbucks cycling team meeting. They are a great group of women! Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious! We're gonna have our best year yet! I announced my coaching business, and WHAMO great response! Oh so fun, to have so many athletes on the same team!! Wanna learn more? Check 'em out: www.starbuckscycling.com

Oh yea, I got this MASSIVE flat tire (lost like 1/2 the tire, NO IDEA what happened there...I wish I could say there were mind altering substances involved, but sadly that was NOT the case)...and by this picture it looks like Mike is changing the tire for me....DON'T BE FOOLED. He was in charge of airing up the donut tire..
Itook off the LUG NUTS (funny word, BTW), AND Jacked up the car, before changing the tire...yea, I think he forgot I'm a GIRL, and those are BOY jobs...I guess not in SWEDEN! But the good news is, I am very confident that I can change a flat tire now (Chrissy remember me saying, "I'm confident I know where we are going" on the way to the Bisbee TT, and 10 min later we were at the Mexican border...oops)

Here's the Starbucks Women's' team...ready to rock!! On a group ride, with some fun drills (well, I thought they were fun...)

I'm tucked in there squatting...

So, that's what I've been doing since my last entry!

Look what the cat dragged in!!! Chrissy and Phil!

Yea!!! Chrissy and Phil stopped by on their way to Canadian Cross Nationals last night! It was fun to see them again! They are such a cute couple! It's great to see Chrissy so happy!

So we took them to our favorite (and only) resaurant...Mia Roma's. It was yummy...good for sleeping well.

This AM we found out the ferries (the boat kind) were cancelled due to high winds early....so good thing they didn't try to get up earlier!!

If you have a microscope, you can see that's me and Chrissy....just kidding, Phil takes great pictures...

Thank godness for Paint...

They're back on the road again now...good luck Phil...kick butt!!

Bake off!!

So for our Friday night of fun, Mike and I first had a few chores to do....but all week we had planned for a 'Bread Party'...Mike would make his bread, and I'd make mine....He apparently made bread often in Sweden growing up...his recipe came from a Swedish cookbook..I used the same recipe you may remember from before...but this time I added Rice Syrup (instead of sugar), and extra salt (last time my bread was nastalicious)...

This is Mikes....and if I had to name this kind of bread it would be...uh, Dense and good w/ extra butter and salt, but probably good for you (no sugar at all, and min salt)...and mine, turned out much better than my last attempt...still don't have the consistency I want. You know, like the bread your Grandmother makes so soft and chewy...Mine is either too doughy (not done), or hard as a rock...

Mike's was perfect the consistency I must say. This man never ceases to amaze me, how did I find this guy? Who cares!! He's awesome!!

Hallow-weenie

At Lake Vue Gardens (the Nursing home where I work)...we had a Talent/Costume contest for Halloween! A great excuse to dress up, and make a fool of yourself. Yea, I'm totally in!!

First we had the Costume contestors...

Yep, that's cone head, Ghoul (What is a Ghoul BTW, and how do you spell it??), a rollerskating waitress, a housewife from the 40s?, and a fisher woman

The audience awaits the first Talent...

Some Fabulous Tango dancing to get us started!

Berny brought down the house w/ 'Sweet Child of Mine'...

Ron, showing his true colors in this stunning ensemble, wait I think that's Rondashous actually...

Me and a friend got ready for our duet of 'You are my sunshine'

Oh yea, I rode the rollers w/ no hands, while she carried the song...it was fun!

More amazing moves by the ladies from Medical records, and Nursing..

The amazing Samurai, and his Dasha's demonstrate Jeff's unprecedented strength by breaking boards w/ one hand....now that's talent! We are so lucky to have such a great Activities dept...they are responsible for this entire party, BTW!

Here's our Rehab Dept doing our rendition of 'Devil in Disguise'...a little number we made up ~ 15min prior to our performance...but it turned out great!

We really are the devils in disguise to some patients....good lil' devils thought...

Here's the winning act. Margaret (PT)cleaning up...w/ the help of Andrea (Speech therapist) hidden behind her...it was hilarious...it was Andrea's hands and she couldn't see...and Margaret's commentary was perfect!!

Hope you all had a safe, fun, spooky Halloween too!!

Psycho-Cross Action...

Last weekend there was a Cross race in Snohomish...So Annette Hanson and I decided to ride out to watch....oh and we got rained on the entire way, w/ three bouts of Hail as well. I guess it's that time of year again. Maybe Leg warmers (not knee), and some kind of bootie would have been a good idea...oh yea, I was on my TT bike (It was beautiful when I left the house!!)...

So we get to the cross race and the sunshine returns....bastard! Annette and I scurry off to the closest cafe for soup and coffee to counteract our hypothermia...I, of course, didn't bring any clothes, but Mike had his jeans and jacket in the car...because he was racing...and what is worse than FITTING in your husbands clothes??? Don't we all just want it to be HUGE on us?? Everything fit, jeans, jacket, SHOES....I think I was supposed to be a boy (that's what my Dad thought too before I was born...), but instead I'm one tought, thick headed girl...hah!!

After lunch, and the feeling returning to my toes...we returned to watch the end of the cross race.

Wait a MINUTE!!! What's Mike doing on the sideline w/ Annette???

Oh my, that saddle looks...uh uncomfortable...gives a new meaning to 'hardass'...

There's a real 'Slippery Slope' in REAL cross races...this was a great place to watch people eat it...literally!

The worst part about cross? The clean up...lucky for me the rain and hail washed my bike for me...whew!

That was that!
